Why use us

My name is Suede Stanton-Drudy and I am the Head of the Immigration Practice at de Mallet Morgan solicitors.

I have recently migrated to the UK so I know first hand how stressful and complicated changing countries can be.

In Sydney I practiced exclusively as a Migration Law solicitor and was highly regarded in my field. I hold a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney with first class honours and a Bachelor of Languages from the University of New England.

In Australia I dealt with the most difficult cases, those that required an indepth understanding of migration legislation and policy. I have successfully assisted clients to lodge many visa applications and appeals and I have represented clients to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship as well as before Tribunals and Courts.

At de Mallet Morgan solicitors we are able to offer you more than a simple visa service. Our Immigration practice will advise and guide you on all aspects of the visa process and our general practice will support you in preparing to move to a new country: our conveyancing practice can help when you have to sell your house; our wills and probate practice can help you to deal with your affairs before you migrate. We also provide you with contacts in your new country to ensure a smooth transition.

As a client of a firm of solicitors you are protected by the Solicitors Regulation Authority which has strict rules of conduct for solicitors. Many people who advise on immigration are not regulated and do not hold professional qualifications. Even those who are registered migration agents with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) may not hold a qualification. The MARA is simply an Australian registration body, it does not assess agents’ abilities or award qualifications. Any agent acting inside Australia must be MARA registered. However, the MARA has no power to discipline an agent who is acting outside Australia (eg from the UK) and unlike the Law Society the MARA has no compensation fund.

I look forward to hearing from you with any questions you have and to working with you to secure your bright new future.

Kind regards,

Mrs Suede Stanton-Drudy
